I went to the peacock one Saturday afternoon with a friend.

We were served quickly, prices were very good for central Nottingham, nice warm and cosy atmosphere and lots of friendly vegan faces.

I had the lasagne, which came with chips and a side salad. the chips and were to die for, real home made ones.

Unfortunately my lasagne was extremely dough-y & hard to eat. the pasta sheets seemed very thick and stodgy. but the chips and garlic bread filled me up anyway

Brilliant!
4.5

Came with my parents at the weekend, was difficult to find a table in the first place but that was our fault for coming quite late in the evening. I ordered the fish and chips and it was amaaaaazing. Im a vegan and haven’t had pescy fish and chips in 2 years and this was the first alternative I’ve had. The tofish was really yummy, moist and crispy, and the chips were to die for. Mushy peas and tartar sauce too! My parents are meat eaters and had the same as me and loved it as well, definitely recommend!

Peacock review
4.5

I love what the owners have done at The Peacock. Hats off to them on bringing us a full vegan menu.

I have been several times to eat and enjoyed each experience. Their food is vegan but not all of their drinks are, which is a shame.

I have had the tofish ‘n’ chips which was lovely, the sausage (×2), chips and peas (substituted for beans, coz beans with chips ain’t my bag), which was fantastic, the chicken and stuffing style sandwich I enjoyed.

The sharing platter with chili was real good, apart from the chili not being to my liking as it was very tomatoey and not hot. I had a leek, potato and kale soup with a sandwich and chips, from the specials board, for 3.95 and this was superb. The pie and mash was so tasty but I agree with the other review on the lasagna: it was dry and too soft. I didn’t mind it too much, but my friend, who ordered it, didn’t like it, but loved the rest of her meal.

The chips at The Peacock are perfect! Absolutely perfect every time. They’re crispy and battery and taste so good.

People, go try out the food at this lovely little pub.

Chose The Peacock to celebrate my birthday and wasn’t disappointed! We shared the ‘Sharing Platter’ which was very tasty and filling, then I had the veg pesto tart and my partner had the seitan burger… Wow! Both delicious and plentiful! Will definitely be coming back soon!

The Peacock
5.0

I have visited The Peacock on many occasions as I live in Nottingham. The food is great, very reasonably priced, the new décor is in keeping with its Victorian roots and gives the place a lovely atmosphere.

The Peacock is massively supported by Nottingham vegan community (and the surrounding areas) not only for food but as a place to just pop in for a drink, as it is an ethical and compassionate place to be. I would highly recommend a visit to this establishment.

Favourite place I have been to

Have been in vegan central (London) since September and I am yet to find a place that tops the Peacock. Every time I have been the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Food is always quick and always tastes incredible. Took my mother, who eats meat, and she has told all her friends about her new favourite place to eat!!
